
Plinko Catcher UI
A main part of plinko catcher is making the UI fun to interact with. Because players will be interacting with it frequently it is important that I make it feel fun to use.
I achieved this by adding some nice popping animations to each button and a satisfying and rewarding sound.
Since there is already a lot of numbers and statistics on screen, I decided to turn the combo counter into a diegetic combo bar that is displayed on the side of the plinko chart. Doing this means less time focused reading and more time spent catching balls. (Image 2)
I added a point pop up when catching a ball which turned out to be a simple yet effective feedback tool. As before it was implemented players were still having a hard time understanding what ball value meant.
This point pop up also added to the arcade-like feel of Plinko Catcher while only being just text. (Image 3)
About Plinko Catcher
Plinko catcher was developed by myself. It is a tycoon-like game where you catch balls to upgrade you plinko machine.

Plinko Catcher is a short replayable single player experience available on windows.
Players can catch the falling plinko balls with the catcher, doing so grants them with money to upgrade the ball value, ball spawn speed and the catcher size.
Players can also purchase different colour themes that change the colours of the plinko machine.
Afterwards the player can prestige which will reset them back to the start however they get a permanent upgrade allowing them to grow faster than before.
